Stewardship & Budget Committee Skit for Presbytery

Subject:  Mission Yearbook and Children’s Mission Yearbook

Rod:  And one last thing I wanted to mention, was the  Mission Yearbook. 

          Last year the Stewardship & Budget Committee made it possible for each church

to buy one copy at the bulk rate.

          Instead of doing that this year, we will be making it possible for you to order multiple

copies – from one to one hundred or more – all at the bulk rate.

Ken:  That’s right.  If a church wants to buy just one through us, it would cost only $8.25

including shipping and handling. If they bought it on their own it would cost $13.00.                

Sally:  I’m glad you’re doing that, because last year after I bought one from you, I needed more

but had to buy another ten to still get the bulk rate.

Ken:  Why in the world do you need so many copies?

Sally:  Lots of reasons – and we’re not using it all the ways we can, yet, at Whitinsville.

                    Some folks use it for their personal daily devotions. 

They do the Scripture reading  and pray for our missionaries of the day.

Nancy:  And some churches read the Moment for Mission on Sunday in Worship.

Rod:  I’ve known Sunday School classes to use the information to find a mission program

            on the map and then learn more about Christians around the world.

Sally:  With the new Children’s Mission Yearbook they could do even more.

                    They could learn games from that country or make some food using the recipes.

Rob:  That is such a great new resource!  I heard it was a best seller each of the last few years.

There are so many ways to use it – not just with children but with the whole church.

Nancy:  It sounds like you could even use it in newsletters or as opening devotions for Bible

Study groups or men’s or women’s groups!

Ken: Well, if the Children’s Mission Yearbook is so great – why aren’t you making it possible

for us to order that through the committee at bulk rate, too?

Sally:  What a great idea!!

Nancy:  We should probably wait and have a committee meeting to decide that.

Rob:  Couldn’t we at least begin to take orders tonight?

Rod:  Welllllll, I guess we could go ahead and take orders.

Sally:   Super!  I was hoping that might happen!  I just happen to have the ordering information

    with me?  In fact, when folks came tonight they picked up an order sheet at the door!

Rod:  If that’s the case, how much will they cost?

Sally:  As you already said, the Mission Yearbooks will be $8.25 each

and the Children’s Mission Yearbooks will be $4.50 each.

There were order forms at registration or they can call the Presbytery Office for

information.

Nancy:  But when would they have to have their order in?

Sally: If they have them in by the November Presbytery meeting, they can pick them up

in December at the Presbytery office or wait and get them at the January Presbytery meeting.

Rob:  That sounds great!   I know I want to order some!  I’ll check around and see how many

          we’re going to need.
