Greetings from The General Presbyter

Friends,

Thank You!

How else can I begin?

I am so grateful for your support and prayers as I begin this ministry with and among you as G.P. of Boston. I was overwhelmed by your welcome at our July Presbytery Meeting at Camp Wilmot, and was delighted to meet so many of you personally.

Thanks again for your vote of confidence that God can work through me to guide us in growth, healing, and moving forward with the structure and vision that has given shape to this vibrant Presbytery.

One of my first goals is to meet as many of you as possible. During this transition, I will be in and out of the office, learning the rhythms and schedules of the ministers, churches, and committees. This fall I hope to set some specific times to be in the office so you can be sure to catch me, rather than an answering machine. I will also set a regular day off. Ministers, especially, it would help me plan if you could send me your regular day off.

Please feel free to call me on my cell phone 617 939 6006, and always leave a message. When I am at work at my other job giving tours at The Old Manse in Concord, my phone must be turned off, and I try not to talk and drive. You can also leave messages with our office coordinator Christine, or contact me via e-mail.

I would like to visit and worship with each congregation over the next 18 months. At your invitation or by mutual scheduling, I’d like to join you for worship, classes, and fellowship. If you are celebrating some special occasion, and would like me to attend or participate, please give me plenty of notice. I have already agreed to visit three churches, and await your invitation.

Clear and accurate communication, careful listening, and mutual respect will help us all move forward together. I hope to write regular reflections – Wayne’s Words – and share them with all those who are interested. I have attached the initial epistle. We will send it out to everyone on our regular computer list, and give you opportunity over the next few weeks to unsubscribe if you do not wish to receive it.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Shalom,

Wayne
