Site Documentation

This book of pages describes the site and provides guidelines and suggestions on how to use it.  Your suggestions for improvement are welcome.

Most of the web site is open to all.  Some parts are restricted to registered Presbytery members.  If you are a member of the Presbytery of Boston and would like an account, please request it using the Register link at the very bottom of the page.  After validation, you will receive login information.

If you have forgotten your username and/or password, click on "log in" at the bottom of this page, then click on Request New Password.  Fill in the requested information, and your username and password will be emailed to you.

If you have an account, you will see additional page(s) of documentation below.

How can I access the documents in a Presbytery Meeting packet ZIP file?

For each Presbytery Meeting, we provide each document for the meeting in PDF format, and we also provide a "ZIP" file that contains all of the documents in a compressed format so that it will download to your computer faster.  Once you have downloaded the ZIP file, you need to access the documents in the packet.  If you have Microsoft Windows XP or Vista, open Windows File Explorer (My DOcuments or My Computer), position the view to the file that you downloaded, and double-click on the file name.  Windows will open a new window that will show all of the documents.  You can "Extract all files" or you can view individual files in the packet by double-clicking on the file names.

If you have an older version of Microsoft Windows, you will need a "helper program" to unzip the files.  We recommend Freebyte ZIP (at http://www.freebyte.com/fbzip/) as a good, free program.  Download it to your computer and install it.  When you run it, you can select your ZIP file and then upzip the files so that you can access each one separately.

If you have another system than Microsoft Windows, please consult a local computer authority to find out how to unzip files.

On the login page, click on Request New Password.

Enter your email address and answer the question (to make sure you are a person rather than a computer).

Your account information will be emailed to you along with a link so you can login and set your password.
